What cookies are
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or other device (such as a smartphone or tablet) as you browse a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners information about how their site is being used.
Our approach
Nothing non-essential is set until you say yes. When you first arrive we show a small banner asking whether we may use Google Analytics. If you press Accept, the Google tag is loaded and its cookies are set. If you press No thanks, or ignore the banner, it is never loaded and no request leaves for Google at all.We do not use advertising cookies, we run no advertising or remarketing pixels, and we do not sell or share browsing data with advertising networks.
You can change your mind at any time: change your cookie choice. Choosing No thanks after previously accepting stops any further data being sent; to remove cookies Google has already set, clear them in your browser.
Google Analytics, if you accept
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where in the country they are, and whether they arrived from a search engine or a link. We use it to see which pages are useful and which are not. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not combine it with any enquiry you make.
If you accept, Google sets cookies beginning _ga on this site. They hold a random identifier so that repeat visits can be counted as one visitor, and last up to two years. Your IP address is truncated before it is stored. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms, and may transfer it outside the UK; see Google’s privacy policy. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off.
Your answer to the banner is kept in your browser’s local storage under the name fz-consent, so you are not asked again on every page. That is not a cookie and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
What we store to make the site work
Two small pieces of information are kept in your browser’s session storage while you use the site. Session storage is not a cookie: it is never sent to our servers, no other website can read it, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.
- Your enquiry reference — so you can see your options, come back to upload documents and pick up where you left off, without an account or a password.
- Which brand you arrived through — so a farm enquiry keeps showing Farmzo rather than switching to Flowzo part way through.
Both exist to deliver something you asked us for, which is why they are strictly necessary and do not require your consent. Neither holds your name, your business details or anything about your finances. If your browser blocks storage the site still works; you would simply use the link we email you to return to your enquiry.
Cookies we do not use
We do not run Cloudflare Web Analytics, Meta or Facebook pixels, LinkedIn Insight, Hotjar, reCAPTCHA, or any advertising or remarketing tags on this website. Google Analytics is the only third-party tag, and only with your consent.
Nothing is loaded from anywhere else
Apart from Google Analytics, and only once you have accepted it, almost nothing on this website is loaded from a third party. The typeface is served from our own servers rather than from Google Fonts, so no request leaves for anyone else and your IP address is not handed to another company simply because you looked at a page.
The one exception is a video. Our about page carries an interview, and its still image is served from our own servers like everything else. Nothing is requested from YouTube unless you press play. If you do, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies before playback, and at that point Google will see your IP address and that you watched it. Not pressing play means nothing reaches them at all.
Our pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which filters malicious traffic and serves the site quickly. Cloudflare sets no cookie on this website.
Links to other websites
Our website contains links to lender websites and other third-party sites. If you follow a link to another website, that site will have its own cookie and privacy policies which we do not control. We encourage you to read them.
How to control cookies
There is nothing here to accept or reject, so there is no banner and no preference to set. You can still control cookies and site data through your browser settings — most browsers let you see what is stored, delete it individually or entirely, and block it from being set. Blocking storage on this site will not break anything beyond the enquiry reference described above.
General independent guidance on managing cookies is published by the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.
