Our panel includes lenders that only lend to farming, alongside mainstream business lenders.
Enquiring involves no credit check at all. Applying to a lender is usually a soft search that only you can see, and the full search other lenders can see normally comes later, when you accept. It varies by lender, and we tell you which before anything is submitted.
Most farms aren't limited companies, and that's fine. We'll match you with lenders that suit how your farm is set up.
Yes. Some lenders only work with limited companies, but others on our panel lend to partnerships and sole traders. We'll point you to the right ones.
Yes, it widens the choice. Agricultural lenders work with any farm structure, but several mainstream lenders only lend to limited companies and LLPs. If your farm is a limited company, or your diversified venture is set up as one, you can usually reach both groups, and we will show you all of them.
A diversified venture is often a separate limited company, which opens up lenders the farm itself cannot reach. Tell us which business is borrowing and we will put it to the right ones.
Most options are repaid monthly. Some input finance for feed and fertiliser is repaid within the season. We'll explain the options before you commit.
Yes, for amounts above £25,000. Below that, lending to a sole trader or a small partnership is regulated consumer credit rather than business lending, and our farm panel is built for business lending. If you need less than £25,000, call us on 0333 772 4865 and we will talk through the options. Limited company farms can borrow from £1,000.
No. Sending us an enquiry involves no credit check, so it leaves no mark on your file. If you decide to apply, most lenders on our panel run a soft search on the business and its directors to work out your offer, which only you can see. The full search other lenders can see normally comes if you accept, though a few run their checks earlier. We tell you which applies before anything is submitted.
Yes, through our sister company CW Asset Finance, which arranges tractor, machinery and breeding stock finance. Asset finance is usually a better fit than a loan for kit.
Farm lending takes longer than general business lending, because there is usually security and sometimes a valuation. Input credit and revolving facilities move fastest. Anything secured on land is weeks rather than days. We will give you a realistic timescale once we know which lender fits.
